WheeLift is an assistive mobility solution that breaks away from how conventional wheelchairs operate, by allowing users to adjust their seating height with ease. Users can adjust their body and eye level to their desired height, making it easier to perform activities of daily living. This improves overall quality of life while providing comfort and flexibility that many conventional wheelchairs do not offer.

Case Study

• Mr A is a wheelchair user who often spends long periods at home without full-time caregiving support. Tasks that require vertical reach, such as using kitchen counters or accessing shelves, are difficult and sometimes unsafe.
• With WheeLift, he can independently adjust his seating height to safely reach items and transfer between furniture of different heights at home.
• Outcome: Greater day-to-day independence and safer ADLs, with reduced reliance on family or caregivers.

In collaboration with NTUC Health AAC (Bukit Batok West), we conceptualised and built VacanSee, a highly accurate, non-intrusive sensor network designed to provide real-time, actionable insights into space utilization and human presence. We focus on two core capabilities:

• Reliable Occupancy Detection: The system precisely detects human presence and activity status, operating effectively without cameras or the need for user interaction. This capability ensures complete user privacy and dignity.
• Wireless Data Communication: All occupancy data is securely streamed wirelessly to a central management hub. This infrastructure provides the crucial, instant visibility needed for remote oversight and data-driven decisions.

Main Features

This dynamic sensing capability is not limited to a single application. It is a foundational tool for optimizing resource allocation and enhancing service delivery across various sectors, including:

• Healthcare and Elder Care: Instant status of shared bathrooms, therapy rooms, or communal lounges.
• Smart Facilities: Monitoring occupancy of meeting rooms, workstations, or restrooms for cleaning and reservation efficiency.

Standsafe is a pressure-sensitive cushion designed for the elderly and individuals at risk of falling. It intelligently detects when a user begins to rise from a seated position and instantly triggers an integrated, wireless alert to notify caregivers or nurses, enabling proactive intervention and enhanced safety.
